Goodbye John! We will miss you!

We are saying goodbye to a good friend and a great co-worker.  John Walters has moved into a full time roll with Iowa State University and we couldn't be happier for him.  Brad Edwards and his wife were kind enough to host a fantastic going away part for John, here are a few pics from the event.

What a great banner to welcome everyone to the party!

Watching some hilarious outakes!

The Dells and Dyersville

We just got back from a fantastic vacation!  We travelled to the Wisconsin Dells for some waterpark action.  It was a great time to be there, it wasn't too crazy and crowded.  The boys had a wonderful time!

On the way home we decided to stop by the Field of Dreams in Dyersville.  My husband and I are big fans of the movie but had never been to the site.  It was exactly what you would expect, a peaceful place in the Iowa countryside.

We had the field to ourselves for about 15 minutes and then tourists came from Ohio, Texas, and South Carolina.  I guess the movie is true, "If you build it, they will come."  (I know I know, but I had to say it).

Garden Progress

Squash is coming up strong!
Even with a lack of rain my tiny garden is exploding!  I went out to water it this morning and found about thirty baby squash growing.  My three out of four of my tomato plants are doing good.  The one Brad Edwards gave me is doing the best.  I bet I'll have beans soon too, they seem to be going strong.  The okra, peppers and cucumbers the jury is still out but they look good so far.
I think my garden is doing so good this year because my daughter and I are playing in the backyard almost everyday so I always go out there and pull weeds and throw some water on it.
We will see if it pays off!
