This weekend I was the emcee for the 1st Wild About God Gospel Brunch Concert to benefit the Read to Me Foundation. It was fanstastic entertainment and great food! They plan to do another event in October. It's a great organization and a worthy cause check them out: http://www.readtomefoundation.org/
Here's some of the pictures of the event. (Below my sister Magdalena in the middle, with Dondino on the right and Pastor Nathan Best on the left)

3 months old today!
Every parent keeps telling me to enjoy every moment because kids grow up so fast. They are right. I can't believe it's been three months already! But at the same time, and I'm going to contradict myself here, when I think back when I delivered her, that seems like a year ago.
I just love this little baby so much. Motherhood has come pretty easy and naturally for me. I think it has something to do with that I was around babies all growing up. I helped take care of my brothers when they were babies and always worked in the nursery at church. When I was sixteen I babysat a newborn baby for an entire summer. I also know that Lydia is a really easy, she's not fussy and is a good little sleeper (knock on wood), so that helps. My husband is wonderful with her. He's a real hands on dad. When she gets up in the middle of the night or early morning, I feed her but then he changes her and gets her back to bed. We're a great team!
I feel so blessed to have such a happy, healthy family!

First Full Week Back
Today marks my first full week back to work. It hasn't been easy but at the same time it hasn't been as difficult as I thought it could be. What makes it bearable is, one that I love my job and two, my husband or my sister Natalie watch her while I work. Also, I get to sneak home on my dinner breaks and spends some time with her, I'm thankful I live so close to work.
Before I leave for work we get to spend a lot of quality time together, playing, going on walks or sitting under our big tree in the backyard. She wiggles, coos and "talks" the whole time. I treasure that time with her.
As you can see in the top picture she always trys to get her hand or fingers in her mouth, I wish she'd take her pacifier instead, braces may be in our future.
Below are pictures of my little girl before I left for work. I usually lay her down before I leave and she take a nice long nap.
My poor sister and husband, I think I text them every half hour asking what she's doing. They are so patient with me and respond everytime and send pictures too.

Garden Harvest!
My sister and I planted a garden in early May and we are just now getting tons of veggies! Today we picked hundreds of green beans and peas and we even have one kohlrabi ready. Our cucumber plants are growing like crazy and soon we'll have a lot of tomatoes! I'm so excited! I love going to farmers markets but I think its really neat to have all of these veggies growing right in my back yard.
It looks like I'll have to freeze most of the beans, there's no way we could eat all of them before they'd go bad.
When we planted the garden it seemed so spread out, not anymore. Now all the plants are growing on top of each other. Next year I'll plant a bigger garden.
